TV on the Radio Announce Miami Show at the Fillmore October 25

​Have you've seen (or, well, heard) Nine Types of Light? It's the new-ish album by Brooklyn's TV on the Radio and it's so blindingly brilliant that if a weak-eyed, sensitive-eared indie kid such as yourself isn't very, very, very careful (i.e. UV-shield sunglasses and silicone), he or she could end up instantly blind and/or deaf.

That's fair warning because TVOTR has just added five new dates to its tour schedule. And there are a number of unsuspecting music nerds in Saratoga Springs and Canton, New York; Charleston, South Carolina; Lake Buena Vista, Florida; and -- most importantly -- Miami Beach who might not be properly prepared to face the infinitely bright Nine Types of Light that'll soon be assaulting their fragile sensory systems.

Originally, the band announced its 2011 tour back in February, planning to travel the country -- from Philadelphia to Detroit to Denver -- blasting America's music fans with retina-searing light blasts and cochlea-crushing sonic booms.

But the death of bassist Gerard Smith (who was in the hospital with lung cancer and not on tour) forced a number of concerts, like Philly and the Motor City, to be rescheduled.



So TVOTR's tour went from a springtime trek to an Indian Summer-style road trip. And right now, vocalist Tunde Adebimpe, string man Kyp Malone, gadget guy David Andrew Sitek, and percussionist Jaleel Bunton are getting set to crash through the Midwest, down the East Coast, and across to Vegas and Cali before flashing back again for those five new shows.
