Behind the Scenes on 13-Year-Old Heartthrob Gibbor Green's "Crush"
The music video directed by Maicol Diaz isn't just the tale of one middle-schooler's infatuation with another. It also offers an enticing look at South Beach and a cameo from Sonni's Primary Flight boombox building in Wynwood.
Green is an Overtown native, and the video features kids from his own neighborhood as actors. "We had a great time with the students from the Overtown Youth Center," Gibbor says. "Everyone was energetic on the day of filming and all of the students were very cooperative."
His management team put Gibbor in touch with a member of the center's advisory board, who was excited to include the summer students in the filming. According to Green, a lot of the kids were already interested in art and music.
Recently, he released a behind the scenes peek at the making of this eye-catching video. It features pint-sized dancers having a bit of fun.
So far, the public response to this first single "has been great," Green says. He was surprised by all the feedback. "We have been overwhelmed with the response that we have received so far and it lets me know that we have more work to do in order to keep up with the demands of the listening audience."
And this isn't it for the local artist. On 11/11/11, King Creative Entertainment will release Gibbor's second video and single "#FOLLOWME," so make sure to bookmark GibborGreen.com.
It's really only a matter of time before you develop an innocent crush on this 13-year-old heartthrob.
