Jimbo's Frankenstock Halloween With Fire Dancers, Free Hotdogs, and Honey Henny Lime

On Saturday, Jimbo's will be swarming with Frankenstockers.

Crossfade was down at Jimbo's this Saturday, and we asked him how he feels about all of the bands that play out there. Does he like them? He said enthusiastically, "Oh, yeah!"

Though he's had both knees replaced, the 84-year-old still loves cutting the rug on his Virginia Key squatting grounds. His son Bobby said, "Once in a while, he falls down, but he gets right back up!" That's Jimbo, a survivor and a party guy.

This Saturday, he's hosting Frankenstock, a spooky music-filled Halloween fest that'll be done in Jimbo's signature style. Everyone is welcome to hear 12 bands play and participate in costume contests. Bring your dogs, your babies, your grandmother, your pet python. Bring 'em all.

There is obviously no cover. Free hotdogs and one-dollar beers will keep you fueled throughout the day and well into the night. Fire dancers will hypnotize and frighten the children.

From 1 p.m. to 2 a.m., the bands will be raging. And they all have wonderful names like Crazy Fingers, Honey Henny Lime, Green Sunshine, Electric Kif, Flavio Rocha Quartet, D Brown as Papa Jerome and the Healers, Troy Youngblood of Skull and Bone Band, Grampa's Breakfast Club, Poko Loco, New Vintage, and -- Crossfade's personal favorites -- The Funky Nuggets and The CornerStoners. There appears to be no sign of Swampfoot, the classic Jimbo's band, but we can all hope for a cameo.

You're gonna have to dress up. If you like, you can do your best Jimbo and compete to win the Jimbo's look-alike contest. For the lovely ladies, there's a most unique swimsuit contest, not for the skinniest or bustiest, but more for the best attitude.

Winners get cash. So seriously, get to work on your funkiest beachwear.
