Moby Dropping Art Basel Miami Beach DJ Set at Mansion December 3

​There are very few bald men as gnarly as Richard Melville Hall, especially in the record business. Better known as Moby, the 46-year-old DJ, producer, and songwriter is an electronic music pioneer who's broken cross-genre stereotypes with countless collaborations and massive commercial success.

He's worked with everyone from David Bowie to Public Enemy, Britney Spears, Metallica, and even Michael Jackson. On Saturday, December 3, though, Moby's all yours. The bespectacled beatmaker will be performing a live DJ set at Mansion.

Moby is not a typical rock star. He's a good dude with even better intentions, promoting just causes like veganism and animal rights.

He's widely accepted in several circles -- music snobs, philosophers, photographers, etc. In fact, he released a book of photography last year showcasing pictures he's taken while touring the globe.



"I guess what I wanted to do with the photography in this book is show a very different side of touring and life on the road," he said during an interview on NPR's Weekend All Things Considered. ""There's no shortage of books showing the very glamorous and sexy side of rock 'n' roll touring -- backstage parties and private planes and whatnot. Whereas for me, touring tends to be a very strange and isolating experience."


Fittingly enough, Moby the visual artist will be making his Mansion appearance during Art Basel Miami Beach.
