Cults on Yo Gabba Gabba! and Our Five Other Favorite Musical Guests on Children's Television

Cults were one of indie music's biggest breakout acts of 2011, landing on several Best of 2011 lists and cementing their spot among the blogosphere's buzz-worthiest bands. But what's an indie-pop group to do between albums? Sing holiday songs on children's television.

Our internet friends over at Stereogum posted a video of the New York City duo singing a cute song about hot chocolate scheduled to air on Nick Jr's Yo Gabba Gabba! Christmas special later this month. It reminded us just how much indie music loves kids.

Check out some of our favorite musical guests on children's television -- including Cult's performance -- after the cut.

Cults Perform "Hot Chocolate" on Yo Gabba Gabba!
Who doesn't love hot chocolate and indie-pop?

Paul Simon Performs "Me and Julio" on Sesame Street
Who needs Garfunkel when you've got this adorable little songstress?

Mos Def Dressed as a Superhero on Yo Gabba Gabba!
He's always been a hero in our book.

REM Performs "Furry Happy Monsters" on Sesame Street
Could you believe they put a man on the moon and Michael Stipe on a children's show. America!

The Roots Perform "Lovely, Love My Family" on Yo Gabba Gabba!
These dudes love performing on television, and we love watching 'em.

Feist Performs "1, 2, 3, 4" on Sesame Street
We'd be much better at math if someone as cute as Feist would've taught us how to count.
