Grand Central's Adds Art Basel Miami Beach Parties: OHWOW, Psychic Mirrors, and Three Getdowns in The Garret

Enter the weird world of Ryan Trecartin with OHWOW and Grand Central.

​It's been approximately four and a half weeks since downtown hangout Grand Central announced that DFA Records exec and former LCD frontman James Murphy would be kicking off the club's Basel week with Special Disco Version.

And tonight, the disco ball finally drops on Mr. Murphy's arty party co-starring ex-LCD bandmate Pat Mahoney, garage gang Black Lips, and solo disco-house dude Midnight Surfer.

But Grand Central's also added five other Art Basel Miami Beach bashes to its calendar of events, featuring Wynwood gallery OHWOW, art star Ryan Trecartin, subtropical soul crew Psychic Mirrors -- not to mention three getdowns in GC's semi-secret loft The Garret.

Thursday, December 1
James Murphy and Pat Mahoney's Special Disco Version. With Black Lips, Midnight Surfer, and a "surprise guest DJ." The party starts at 10 p.m. in Grand Central's main room. Admission is free with RSVP to uptheantics.com/discobasel.

Night People. Hosted by Mint & Serf with Lloydski, Blu Jemz, and Eli Escobar. The party starts at 11 p.m. in The Garrett. There's no cover.

Friday, December 2
H.I.T.S. B.Y.O.B. M.I.A.M.I. With Psychic Mirrors and live projections from 26 artists. The party starts at 11 p.m. in Grand Central's main room. There's no cover.

Peach Fuzz. With resident DJ Dzarector and special guest Michna. The party starts at 11 p.m. in The Garrett. There's no cover.

Saturday, December 3
OHWOW Presents. With Ryan Trecartin, GHE20GOTH1K, Total Freedom, Physical Therapy, Yen Tech, and AIDS 3D, plus visuals by Thunder Horse Video. The party starts at 11 p.m. in Grand Central's main room. There's no cover.

OTW MIA Afterparty. With DJ sets by Blackouts. The party starts at 11 p.m. in The Garrett. There's no cover.
