Red Hot Chili Peppers Among 2012 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees

​The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, contemporary music's Cleveland equivalent to Major League Baseball's Cooperstown, has announced its class of 2012.

As we here at Crossfade expected, Guns N' Roses made the cut. But the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beastie Boys, and "Hurdy Gurdy Man" singer Donovan will also be joining the Hall's ranks at the April 14 induction ceremony.

This means y'all better grab your tix for the Chili Peppers' upcoming show at BankAtlantic Center as soon as they go on sale this Saturday before the scalpers hike up the price to reflect the group's Hall of Fame status.

Guns N' Roses' "November Rain"
Will the original lineup reunite for the Hall induction? That's the question everyone's asking, buzzing about whether or not Slash and Axl will squash their beef to make it "November Rain" in Ohio.



Beastie Boys' "Sabotage"
The Beastie Boys haven't appeared publicly since 2009, when Adam "MCA" Yauch announced he had cancer. It'll be great to see the Boys team up for the induction ceremony and see a cancer-free Yauch.



Red Hot Chili Peppers' "Give it Away"
Even though longtime lead guitarist John Frusciante recently left the group, we can't imagine an induction without him. Whether or not ex-Pep Dave Navarro will be included will be interesting.



Donovan's "Hurdy Gurdy Man"
It's about time Donovan's musical contributions were recognized by the Hall. Dude was a important influence on John Lennon and Paul McCartney, even teaching them about finger-picking in India.



Freddie King's "Have You Ever Loved a Woman"
King's one of the most influential blues musicians of all time and well deserving of the Hall's Early Influence prize.



Laura Nyro's "He's a Runner"
If you're into a hybrid blend of jazz, pop, show tunes, and Gospel music, you're probably thrilled about Nyro's posthumous induction.



Small Faces' "Itchycoo Park"
Like getting high and touching the sky? Take a trip to "Itchycoo Park" when '60s mod rockers Small Faces get immortalized in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
