Dancing like a star can be dangerous.

The proof: Miami's own R&B crooner Jason Derulo fractured his neck practicing acrobatic tumbles for his Future History world tour.

Derulo could have been paralyzed, but luckily avoided that fate. His tour, however, is canceled for the moment and Derulo (real name Jason Joel Desrouleaux) is recovering.

He maintains a sense of humor. The picture at right was uploaded to Facebook with the caption: "Like my new chain? ;)"

Instantly, Derulo's rabid tween fanbase responded with 3,518 comments ranging from heartfelt emotional responses to web-enabled callousness.

Here are a few examples:

Just like Usher, Derulo is a Haitian American. He Anglicized his last name's spelling to make it easier to pronounce. The local dude is ready for international superstardom. His abilities were first recognized by Cash Money Records who put him on as a songwriter, and he later signed to Beluga Heights Records.

Beluga Heights was bought up by Warner Bros., and Derulo has released his last two albums through them, one self-titled and the other named Future History, which dropped on Halloween 2011.

The Future History world tour will have to wait for the future. But we're sure Derulo will make his comeback stronger than ever. And, uh, maybe hire some backup dancers to take on those tumbling moves.
