The Swedish House Mafia may be the top family in organized dance music. But they've got very little clout when it comes to striking deals with city officials.

The Miami Herald reports that Miami-Dade County has "pulled the plug" on the Funkshion festival, a four-day, WMC party that would wrap with Swedish House Mafia's Masquerade Motel. But why?

County Commissioner Sally Heyman cites, "several logistical requirements that could not be resolved/satisfied to the level required by our County." And Bal Harbor Mayor Jean Rosenfield wants to "guarantee the people of Bal Harbor do not become prisoners in their own home," according to Sun Post Weekly.

"As far as I know, [Masquerade Motel] is still going on," says one source close to the event.

According to our source, Swedish House Mafia's management controls the flow of information, and while he admits that "time's ticking away," he's confident that the issue will soon be resolved.

"I don't think that [permits and logistics] can be forced. That's just the way it is. It sucks. Everyone [in Miami] is looking for info. There's just nothing right now."
