• "Oh, and he won 3 grammys" is not a reason to not hate anyone. The list of people we all hate who have won awards from self important, industry big wig morons goes on practically for ever. Otherwise though, this is a great article.

• Damn repeating the word "recognized" too many times, but anyways. Yes, I know what "real screamo" is because... unlike a lot of people commenting on this article or even the kids into "skramz," I was actually around for it.

• BTW what would have been the appropriate genre tag for FFTL... Sure, it's not like... Hot Cross or Pg. 99 or something but that's an easily recognized tag for that generation of bands which many people can recognize. Again, thanks for reading!

•  Indirectly, that's kind of my point. Leaving personal taste out of it -- which I did in this story, except for in #4, because I do like that track! -- he's accomplished a fair bit that's hard to argue with. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment.

•  Hey, just to clarify, that subhead on number six isn't what I originally wrote. My intention was that he brings a different perspective to other COMMERCIAL dance music on the radio which, frankly, sounds like stuff that was around a long time ago. Obviously, I do not think that dance music sucks because I have been involved in the scene since the late '90s. If you click around on my past backlog of articles here you'll see plenty of coverage of all styles of electronic music, underground, commercial, and whatever else. That said, I have no reason to kiss anyone's butt -- and anyone who knows my personal tastes knows I kept them out of this story -- and this story was meant to play devil's advocate against a number of the most common reasons people give for hating on Skrillex. You're right, number four is a matter of opinion; I like that track. In any event, I appreciate that you did read the whole story and take the time to give a point-by-point rebuttal, so thanks.

• Ten good points I can't disagree with and feel that most rational—and levelheaded—people would agree. I always point out, during conversations on Skrillex—which happen more often than anybody would like—that people like Skrillex are needed (and will always appear) to turn the tide and start popularity shifts within any sort of medium (electronic music, in this case). The thesis meets its antithesis and create the synthesis of change.
