Tony Bennett Announces Two Shows at Hard Rock Live, Survives Great Depression

​Octogenarians rejoice, fellow 80-something-year-old and Great Depression survivor Tony Bennett has just announced a two-night engagement at a South Florida casino.

Anthony Dominick Benedetto will leave his heart in Hollywood after the legendary crooner soft rocks the Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on Friday, March 16 and Saturday, March 17, St. Patrick's Day.

A romantic night with an icon and timeless standards sure as hell beats puking green beer, eh?



Bennett is one of a handful of artists who have had records chart in seven different decades. He's won 17 Grammy awards, including two in 2012, and was one of the last people to work with Amy Winehouse. But his contributions to American music pale in comparison the clout he has with world leaders.

According to Bennett, President George W. Bush admitted that it was a mistake to invade Iraq. While being recognized for his achievements at the 2005 Kennedy Center honors, Bennet says President Bush opened up.

"He told me personally that night, he says, 'I think I made a mistake,'" Bennett recalled on Howard Stern's satellite radio program.

A Bush spokesperson called Bennett's account "flatly wrong," adding that President Bush "never said that to Tony Bennett or anyone else."
