Beat freaks have seemingly lost their minds, clearly forgetting that the national average for a gallon of regular gas is nearly $4. Who in their right mind would drop half-a-stack on house music?
Not Crossfade, that's for sure. We ball hard on a $10 budget, popping beer bottles and stretching each dollar. Furthermore, we don't let ridiculously priced Winter Music Conference and Miami Music Week events ruin our weekend.
Just check out the ten best music-related things to under $10.
The Band in Heaven. Friday, March 23, 9 p.m., Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE Second Ave., Miami. $5. This West Palm Beach indie outfit rocks Betty's birthday at Churchill's with New Coke, Jellyfish Brothers Fourier, and others. Who's Betty?
Manatee Grove: Mad Decent & Friends. Friday, March 23, Villa 221, 221 NE 17th St., Miami. $10. It's not often that an electronic record label throws a party where females are encouraged to booty clap. "Express Yourself," y'all.
Body High & Ice Hot. With Todd Edwards, Sinden, Jubilee, and others. Friday, March 23, The Hangar, 2235 NW Second Ave., Miami. Free. Todd Edwards will "Come Around" Wynwood Walls this Friday for a very special set. Oh yeah, so are eight others and "special surprise guests."
Betty Pickle Burlesque Benefit and Variety Show. Friday, March 23, 10 p.m., Tobacco Road, 626 S. Miami Ave., Miami. $5. Betty Pickle is a six-foot-tall redhead with an uncanny ability to swallow large objects. And she wants you to come watch her perform tonight. Do it. Or else.
