Read Crossfade's Q&A with DJ Laz: "I'm Not Leaving Miami for Los Angeles, It's Like Having Two Women" -- plus our interview with SBS's Jesus Salas: "DJ Laz 'Needed a Bigger Platform to Grow."

Less than a month after DJ Laz "decided to move on and explore other professional opportunities," the "Pimp With the Limp" has announced that he'll be back on the airwaves in mid May. But we're not listening; Laz has gone Hollywood.

It was announced today that Lazaro Mendez and KXOL 96.3 FM, "L.A.'s number one party station," have partnered up for The DJ Laz Morning Show, an "entertaining and positive" radio program that'll be broadcasted live from a "brand new, state-of-the-art studio" in Los Angeles.

"Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. is providing me with a wonderful opportunity to create an entertaining and positive program on the radio," Laz says in the press release. "I will be joined by experts, entertainers, musical artists and colleagues from all around the world. The show will be fun, upbeat, interactive, and in-tune with the L.A. community. Each show will be a new experience for listeners."

Laz, a 22-year veteran of the Miami airwaves, unexpectedly resigned from Power 96 earlier this month and hinted at the possibility of a television career.

"I've always wanted to explore different options -- the possibility of TV. I would love to be on TV one day. Maybe now that I have more time, I can explore that," he told NBC 6.

He also mentioned his desire to travel, fish, and spin records after admitting that he had fallen into "this whole morning-show announcer thing" unexpectedly.

Needless to say, the move to Los Angeles radio is just as shocking as his resignation from Power 96.

Phone calls to Spanish Broadcasting System, Inc. have been not yet been returned.

Best of luck to DJ Laz. He was a part of my childhood growing up. And always a very nice guy in person,  especially when partying with him at Martini Bar at Sunset place lol. The guy has done alot to spread Miami culture and I'm sure he'll always continue to rep. All the best!

good luck in LA. L.A. Radio sucks just as bad as Miami radio. I'd think he would take a Satellite gig. Best of luck!
