|Go cruising with Cassy and Treehouse at Sea.|
Memorial Day weekend is upon us. And "Urban Beach Week" has officially begun.
From DJ Khaled's party at Cameo to Young Jeezy's bash at King of Diamonds, there're plenty of opportunities to rub elbows with hip-hop heavyweights, primetime strippers, and porn stars this weekend.
But we get it, not everyone's into that sort of thing. Some of y'all want to pop bottles and drop designer drugs, right?
Well, fear not, beat freaks ... We've wrangled up some of the best Memorial Day weekend electronic music parties 'round Miami as an alternative to the annual hip-hop craziness. Check 'em out after the cut.
Nicky Romero. Thursday, May 24, 11 p.m., LIV Nightclub, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach. Visit livnightclub.com. Rappers, strippers, and porn stars may run South Beach. But north of 40th, it's a Dutchman's kingdom. Nicky Romero is the 18th best prog house DJ in the world and he takes over LIV tonight. Use alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion.
Gerardo Aragon, Gare Ludeña & David Zafra. Friday, May 25, 10 p.m., Queen Lounge, 841 Washington Ave., Miami Beach. Visit queenloungemiami.com. Think Naples, Florida, is nothing more than a glorified retirement community where old folks go to die and rich snowbirds spend their winters? Think again, bro. This Gulf Coast city is also home to up-and-coming tech house DJ Gerardo Aragon.
Treehouse at Sea. With Cassy, Guy Gerber, and others. Friday, May 25, 11:30 p.m., The Musette Yacht, 401 Biscayne Blvd., Miami. Visit treehousemiami.com. Sometimes nightclubs are a little too landlocked. Understandably, the folks from Treehouse decided to take their party onto the water and rent out one Miami's premier party yachts for the evening.
