The arrival of summer has brought electronic dance music's biggest names to the Magic City. From Avicii's tour stop at the American Airlines Arena to Tiësto's Club Life party at LIV, this month has proven to be an EDM fan's wet dream. And best of all, it's not over.
This weekend, bass drops and BPMs continue to take over South Beach with the help of a Dutchman, some bros from Minnesota, and Zürich's best DJ.
Here are the six best club parties this weekend.
Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. Thursday, June 21, 11 p.m., LIV Nightclub, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami; 305-674-4680; livnightclub.com. Tickets cost $40 to $50 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. Holland exports nearly two-thirds of the world's flowers, fresh-cut plants, and bulbs. But it also ships a ton of electronic dance music. From Tiësto to Armin van Buuren, this tiny European nation has produced some of EDM's hugest names. And with their epic beats, DJ duo Sunnery James and Ryan Marciano just might be the next Dutch dance music megastars.
No Regular Play. Thursday, June 21, 11 p.m., Mansion, 1235 Washington Ave., Miami Beach; 305-695-8411; mansionmiami.com. Tickets cost $15 plus fees via wantickets.com. Ages 21 and up. Yes, Bob Dylan and Prince have long been Minnesota's favorite musical sons. But St. Paul's Greg Paulus and Nick DeBruyn (AKA No Regular Play) are making a push to become the Gopher State's most celebrated electro duo.
