Kendrick Lamar Is Coming to Miami: Will "Good Friend" Lady Gaga Join Him?
Despite being young and relatively new to the indie rap game, Lamar's proven himself to be a true professional, feeding off the crowd's energy and delivering knockout performances at just about every show.
But his Pitchfork gig caused a buzz because a certain superstar was spotted lingering on the side stage during Lamar's afternoon set.
Earlier this month, Lady Gaga tweeted that she was listening to Lamar's "The Recipe," admitting her excitement for the MC's good kid, m.A.A.d city LP and sparking buzz about the two entertainers' relationship.
Recapping the festival, Pitchfork's Joe Colly writes, "rumors flew before and during the set ('Lady Gaga? Wait, no, Lady Gaga?!'), and there she was, platinum blonde hair, ridiculous diamonds, and chunky sunglasses, chilling in the wings."
Are they dating? Could they be collaborating on a new record? What the hell is Gaga doing at Pitchfork?
"That's a good friend," Lamar tells Chicago's "Morning Riot" radio show. "She reached out to me on Twitter. We come from two different worlds musically. She's a fan of hip-hop. She says my sound is refreshing, which was what attracted her to it. She's good people."
Hmm ... Who knows? Maybe Gaga will show up at Lamar's Miami gig too.
