Wynwood Radio's Fourth of July Party: Free Booze and Rare Grooves at Wood Tavern

Who wants more than cheap beer and Lynyrd Skynyrd on Independence Day?
Well, Wynwood's Wood Tavern will be hosting a special Fourth of July edition of Backyard Boogie featuring cocktails, food, and lots of tunes, all to benefit Wynwood Radio and the work of local groundbreakers like our city's local music scene queen, Laura of Miami.
The afternoon shindig will feature disco and rare grooves by Laura, Patrick Walsh, Stravinsky, and Terence Tabeau.
For a $15 donation, partiers will score free summer cocktails for an hour including Heineken, sangria, sweet tea vodka, and spiked berry lemonade. They can also grab Pancho Tacos as well as Southern-style burgers, ribs, and jerk chicken sandwiches. Guests can also buy rad accessories, vintage finds and even bikes by the beer garden.
Funds from the event will be used to help buy necessary broadcasting equipment, servers, and licenses for Wynwood Radio, Laura says.

Launched in 2010 by four music lovers, the fledgling station is working to cultivate the arts, foster a sense of community and make a name for Miami's music scene worldwide.
After graduating from the University of Miami, Laura took her popular Vamos a la Playa from WVUM to Wynwood Radio. She's also the new programming director while Nightdrive Miami (her venture with partner Patrick Walsh) curates the daytime rotation.

"The future holds more programs and shows hosted by local tastemakers and beloved DJs," Laura adds. "We aim to diversify our program schedule by bringing different tastes to the table. We want to represent what's going on in Wynwood and Miami, and show the world what the music scene in our Magic City is all about.
"Wynwood Radio aims to be a reflection of the different facets of our local music scene," she says. "By helping us out with fundraising, attendees will be contributing to a project that's by the community for the community."
