Deadmau5 Is "Miserable" and Needs a Break From EDM to "Chill the F#&% Out"
"The people involved are the people I see at my shows, so it made sense to hook up with a cool company like Neff to work on a collaboration," Zimmerman said in a statement. "Plus, it was easy to put ears on the Neff face for an instantly legit logo, right?"
Oh, but what a difference a fortnight makes.
Zimmerman was riding high, and all seemed well and good until this week when the Mau5 man admitted he was feeling "miserable" and needed to "chill the fuck out" for a bit.
Deadmau5 chose to share his struggle via Tumblr, posting a cryptic message earlier this week about his current mental state.
So heres whats happening. im going to unplug for a wee bit. which doesnt mean im cancelling any upcoming shows or anything, im just gunna slam on the breaks for a bit and force myself to endure some quiet time. in that time, obviously the gears will still be moving, ill still be writing, and the releases will still come out (heads up for something crazy real soon like) and yeah.
i got a lot of work to do on some stuff. so, best i just chill the fuck out a bit and just get it done, and get it done RIGHT, until im 100% satisfied with it. Then our regularily scheduled program shall continue. but yeah, im basicly pretty miserable right now and need to pull the fuck back and figure out whatever the fuck it is i do.
A few days later, Zimmerman's press team sent out an email blast announcing the release date of his forthcoming record, Album Title Goes Here, but neglected to mention their client's Tumblr post. (The release date's scheduled for September 25).
We're hoping that's a sign he's pulling "the fuck back" and starting to "figure out whatever the fuck it is" that was bothering him in the first place.
Feel better, BB.
