What is Future RnB?

Well, as Fayetteville-via-Miami singer-songwriter Steven A. Clark once told Crossfade over a croissant sandwich: "It ain't just, 'I want to make love to you and make you my wife,' it's every aspect of life. It's the drugs. It's the drinking. It's the love. It's the hate. It's the pain. It's every emotion."

And no doubt, Clark is an expert on the art of living through next-level rhythm & blues. He's moody. He's mysterious. He's romantic. He's dirty. He's weird.

But now he's ready to F.U.C.K.

Of course, we're talking about the just-announced September 11 release of the local crooner's Fornication Under the Consent of the King album. And not actual fucking.

This full-length (via L&E Media Co. & BloodyGround USA) will be the follow-up to Clark's stellar (though mostly unheralded) 2011 slab Stripes, which aligned him with emerging superstars (i.e. Frank Ocean and The Weeknd) of smooth, soulful, and experimental "Pop/R&B/Alternative/Hip-Hop."

In the official hype, Clark discusses titular semantics and personal experiences.

"F.U.C.K. means a lot as far as saying fuck a lot of things I don't agree with. But for the most part, it's fuck love, fuck relationships, fuck some of these girls. It's a lot of shit.

"I just got out of a relationship that had been long-term, and I don't know. It's kind of like the first thing that comes to mind when you break up with somebody."

Appropriately, F.U.C.K.'s thesis statement is repentant relationship jam, "Don't Have You," (" a confession to my ex," he says) and its new fire-in-a-desert-of-the-soul music video, directed by Uncleluc.

"I almost wish I didn't make it. Almost," Clark told Crossfade after that croissant sandwich. "This is the song that's going to change everything for me, man."
