Uncle Luke to French Montana and YMCMB: "I'm Looking For My 'Pop That' Check"
French Montana's big pool party hit "Pop That," featuring verses from Miami resident rappers Rick Ross, Lil Wayne, and Drake, seems to owe a lot of its success to a well-chopped sample from Uncle Luke's "I Wanna Rock."
The rub: Our favorite former 2 Live Crew member and Miami New Times columnist hasn't received any monetary compensation, nor heard any word about forthcoming recognition. Understandably, he's pissed.

"When I heard the song I said, 'Oh, this is a hit,'" Luke told MTV. "The next thing I said, 'Where's my check.' Ain't nobody told me about my check yet ... I'm gonna talk to Diddy in the back about it."
But this is only the latest in a series of slights between Uncle Luke and the Young Money crew, who may share the city and this sample, but not much else.
Last year, Uncle Luke took to our own pages to let the YMCMB fam know he doesn't appreciate the way they treat our hometown like a set prop.
"I'm tired of seeing these cats using up our beaches, soaking up our sunshine, taking over the nightclubs, and sleeping with our women without investing anything into the community," Campbell wrote.
Weezy caught wind of the diss and replied via Twitter, talking about "Nigga Luke be trippin!!!" Then Drake seemed to take a potshot of his own at the would-be Mayor with a line from his lexicon game-changer "The Motto."
"Tell Uncle Luke I'm out in Miami too/Clubbin' hard, fuckin' women, there ain't much to do," he raps. What? Was this about surf, sun, and fun at the community's expense?
But really, beef happens. We get it. It's cool. We're mostly disappointed in the Bawse. He even shouts out 2 Live Crew in his "Pop That" verse.
Ricky, you're a real Miamian, right? So why are you trying to fuck a real Miamian?
