Swamp Stomp 2013 Announces Headliners: Fishbone, Plus Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds

Ever done the Swamp Stomp? And nah, dude, it ain't a muddy-ass dance.

We're talkin' about the totally homegrown 2,000 person-strong music festival that "started as a killer backyard barbecue with a bunch of bands and booze and a few friends in 2007."

It's always the most "badass, rockenest, craziest, funkadelic hell-of-a-good time."

This year, the Stomp will be goin' down at Tobacco Road, an awesomely ancient Miami bar that's literally "100 fucking years old!"

And 2013's headliner is gonna be Fishbone, the classic '80s/'90s ska-punk-funk-alt-rock-soul crew from Los Angeles that came up alongside Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Beastie Boys.

These guys are so wild that they even partied in the sun and sand for 1987's Back to the Beach, shredding though "Jamaica Ska" with ex-Mickey Mouse Club babe Annette Funicello on lead vocals.



Also on the Swamp Stomp bill: Brooklyn nine-piece neo-soul big band Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds, alongside "a cadre of local artists." In fact, if your band wants to Stomp the Swamp and riff at The Road, just hit up Juke's Eric Garcia (ericgar85@hotmail.com) 'cause he's booking the noise for this bash.

Oh, and obviously the frogs and gators, UM hipsters, tie-dyed hippies, and Crossfade will be there too.
