Ellie Goulding by the Numbers: From Lights and Halcyon to Ex-BF Skrillex
Goulding's debut, Lights, has sold 1.6 million copies worldwide since its official release on February 26, 2010. The album debuted at No. 1 on the U.K. Billboard charts and it was re-released in November of the same year with six additional tracks. She released her second album, Halcyon, last October.
Her debut's title track wasn't released as a single in the U.S. until March 2011, and it was no overnight success. Though the song eventually topped the pop and on-demand charts, as well as reached No. 2 on the Hot 100, Ellie's "Lights" took 33 weeks to get there. That's one of the longest climbs to a peak position that the Billboard charts have ever seen.
