Top Five Latin Parties This Week

According to Pepe Billete, "pata sucias" can be found at clubs all over Miami, shaking their drunk asses for the world to see, and stomping their dirty bare feet on club floors without a care in the world.

Personally, we think that's a beautiful thing.

But there are a lot of classy joints in this town where that doesn't happen at all.

Here are the five best Latin music parties this week where you're likely to experience both extremes, and nights that fall somewhere in between.

La Nueva Onda Latina. Monday, February 4, Upstairs At The Van Dyke, 846 Lincoln Rd., Miami Beach. No cover, $5 table charge. Adrian Guerra is a local singer-songwriter who has won the John Lennon and Billboard World songwriting contests. He was born in Illinois, and raised in Venezuela by Cuban and Ecuadorian parents, sings, plays the cuatro, and the guitar. Showcasing other great local talent, he joins forces tonight with the inimitable Randy Singer, who made the world's first easy-listening harmonica album.



Salsa Tuesdays with Melina Almodovar. Tuesday, February 5, Tapas Y Tintos, 448 Espanola Way, Miami Beach. Free, and ladies get two-for-one drinks from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The self proclaimed Muñeca De La Salsa is not only competing to be the Ultimate Miami Girl, she will also teach you and yours how to shake what your momma gave ya, at this weekly salsa fiesta on the beach.
