Better Than: Speed dating for a Valentine's companion.

Did the youth of Miami prove they party hardest?

Last night, the Generation Wild Tour made its stop at LIV for a crowd of eye-contact enthusiasts, both young and old.

Love was in the air. Literally, it was hanging from the ceiling, spinning 'round.

Mikael Weermets played a lively set that had everyone jumping up and down to the moombah beat, dropping tracks from Alvaro, Major Lazer, and Dirty South. Less than an hour in, we were already getting hot and craving more.

The DJ groupies were out in full force behind the booth, yellow glow sticks in hand, as Deniz Koyu hit the decks. But with the party in full swing, Deniz slowed things down, dropping One Republic's "Apologize" as the crowd sang along and swayed to beat, arms in the air.

Then suddenly, he blew thingsup like a "Cannonball" as lasers seized on the back wall. You know the set is good when the DJ is banging his head just as hard as the crowd. And Deniz kept things going with Zedd's "Follow You Down," and the drop hit as white confetti exploded all over the dance floor.

Next, "Tung" came on. And everyone in the crowd felt the love as electronic roses were passed out by Mikael Weermets and a skinny white girl parading on the DJ booth. By the end of his set, Deniz had the crowd bumpin' to Hardwell's "Spaceman."

Waiting on co-headliner Danny Avila, Generation Wild went beserk as the MC asked: "Are you ready?" And soon, the 17-year-old Spanish superstar DJ took the stage, yelling into the microphone, "Make some noise right now!"

Two sexy Valentine's dancers appeared on either side of the booth and a little-person Cupid shot kisses and Nerf arrows into the crowd. The vibe took an immediate turn, though, when Danny opened his set with Linkin Park's "More Like Me, Less Like You."

But everyone seemed happy with the oddball selection as someone shouted, "Viva España, coño!"

With his hands high in the air, fingers pointing up, Danny grabbed the microphone to yell, "Time to get fucked up!," dropping "Wakanda" for the second time of the night. "Put your hands in the air, Miami," he hollered, unleashing "Antidote," another repeat.

And then Danny train-wrecked ... For a good minute, all we could hear was the discontented grunts of Miami's party people.

But after a quick recovery, the young Spaniard came back hard and the crowd seemed happy to act as though nothing had happened. Giant red balloons fell out of the sky as everyone searched for "Molly" and got down 'n' dirty to "Kick Out the Epic Motherfucker."

Later, Danny slowed down, selecting a mashup version of M83's "Midnight City" with a surprise "Diamonds" twist. Honestly, we didn't expect to hear Rihanna, and the dose of Top 40 left us a little bummed. But the hype returned with Kid Cudi's "Pursuit of Happiness."

Everyone in the crowd was spinning around in circles, singing at the top of their lungs. This was truly the anthem of the night.

Then "Sweet Dreams" reminded us that even the hardest of partiers need to sleep. And Generation Wild said goodnight.

Critic's Notebook

Personal Bias: Not enough champagne facials, if any at all. The crowd was tamer than usual, with everyone on their best behavior hoping to win their Valentine's affection.

The Crowd: Miami's elite singles, more mature than dangerously young, in holiday attire.

Best Attraction: What kinda club has a mechanical bull set up in the back? Solid.
