Chalk it under a simple misunderstanding with a side of armed robbery and aggravated assault; Maybach Music Group's Gunplay will not be spending the rest of his days locked up behind bars for robbing his former accountant at gunpoint, TMZ reports, despite video surveillance that captured the entire violent encounter on tape.

"Today I am grateful and blessed that the case was dismissed," the rapper tells TMZ. "I plan on picking up where I left off with my music and making hits with my upcoming debut album."

As for the victim, he's nowhere to be found.

The incident happened last April, when Gunplay and an accomplice dropped in at 14628 NW Seventh Avenue in Miami, the Tax Palace, to confront store employee Turon Woodside. All seemed well and good until the MMG MC lost his shit and forcibly invaded Woodside's personal space, striking homie in the head before making out with a piece of jewelry.

But Gunplay "surrendered [to authorities] without incident," according to attorney Michael Grieco, several months later after a warrant was issued for his arrest, and has been cleared of any wrongdoing because Woodgate hasn't cooperated with officials.

"Video alone is not enough to convict an individual of a crime beyond a reasonable doubt," according to the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office. "Although the armed robbery is captured on the victim's surveillance system, the victim, Turron Woodside, is uncooperative of the prosecution of this defendant Richard Morales [Gunplay]."

That's good news for Gunplay, who's a free man yet again.

"The first thing I am going to do today is smoke a joint, relax, play video games, and just be with my loved ones."
