This week, he's in town for Hard Miami, a show at Bardot, and a few days off before a North American tour.

Crossfade: First time in Miami?
Flume: Yeah, I never been before. It's my second time in the U.S. I've been to New York and L.A.
What's your idea of the place?
Miami, I hear it's really crazy. It looks like a real party kind of town.
Any musical influences?
I'm like a younger kind of generation and stuff, but music from all kinds of places. Neon Indian is on my label Mom + Pop; he's an influence. I really like his style.
What do you think of Ultra?
I don't really know, to be honest. I never been. I know it's a big-ass music festival. The lineup is quite big and more dancey electro-y. I'm stoked that I can play in places like Hard Miami and Bardot.
This festival in Australia with 10,000 people in a tent that had capacity for 8,000. They had to get someone on the stage before I went on to tell everyone to calm down and chill out. They told me last time it was that packed, someone died because they got squished. They told me I might have to evacuate the tent. And it ended up being a rad gig.
What if someone had died during your set?
I mean, if some one dies, that'd suck, but I'd be pretty stoked to get that kind of reaction.
Do you play other people's music or your own?
With Flume, I do kind of a live show from my own productions.
You just came from Texas and South By Southwest, right?
I imagine Australia to be a lot like Texas. Just a lot of fucking dirt.
Nah, man. The edges is where everyone lives.
Just kidding. Australia is probably a lot like Miami, but with bigger sharks. You smoke weed?
Nah, I don't really smoke. I used to smoke quite a bit. Smoke bongs and play computer games, but I didn't really get anything done. So I quit all that. Now, I go out and party quite a bit, though.
I'm good. Just game to be here.
