Daddy Yankee Comes Out as Gay Not Gay

There are few things manlier -- and in a woman's case, womanlier -- than stepping out of "the closet" and letting the world know you're gay.

And you'd be an asshole not to respect someone with that kind of courage.

But you'd be an even bigger culo to issue a bilingual press release refuting rumors that you're gay, especially if you have a signature line of ladies perfume.

Yesterday, Daddy Yankee had his PR team issue a statement addressing "false reports regarding [his] sexual orientation," reassuring homophobic fans that "online blogs...are to blame" for alleging that he was comfortable with, and confident about, his sexuality.

"Online blogs and social media are once again to blame for the spread of false news reports, which other media outlets have also shared regarding a public figure," Nevarez Communications president Mayna Nevarez stated in the press release. "The reports circulating regarding Daddy Yankee's declaration of homosexuality was falsely written by an online outlet known for fabricating false information and spreading it through social media sites."

Gay rumors are as old as homosexuality. But a snapshot of two Latin men kissing, one of whom coincidently resembles the "Gasolina" singer, was all it took to get Daddy Yankee's panties in a bunch.

But so what if he's straight? The whole world doesn't need to know what Daddy Yankee, husband and loving father of three, does in the bedroom. Nor does it matter.
