"This Spring is your chance to witness the legend himself."

That's the official hype for DJ Shadow's All Basses Covered 2013 tour, a 15-city U.S. trek that's set to snub Miami (and Mansion Nightclub), where the Cali selektor was kicked off the decks for being "too future."

"As opposed to last year's tour," the Shadow team explains, "All Basses Covered 2013 will be hosted by venues who value the communal experience of music and high-quality sound over exclusivity and bottle service."

In December, Shadow was ordered to end his show at Mansion because SoBe VIPs weren't digging the vibe, which prompted him to tweet:

And even though Mansion reps formally apologized, offering their "most sincere apologies to DJ Shadow and his fans for his set being cut short," the self-described "legend" hasn't forgiven the club. Maybe even our city.

In January, Shadow released the full one-hour-26-minute-and-17-second "All Basses Covered (The Infamous South Beach Set)" via SoundCloud, asking, "Too hard? Too future? Or just too raw?," adding, "As always, DJ Shadow has provoked crucial flashpoints of discussion about the discipline of DJ'ing that have defined our turbulent times."

And now he's making his point by striking South Florida from his latest tour.

DJ Shadow's All Basses Covered 2013 Tour Schedule

April 5 Low End Theory, San Francisco, CA
April 11 Output, Brooklyn, NY
April 12 Altar Bar, Pittsburgh, PA
April 13 Port City Music Hall, Portland, ME
April 14 The Observatory, Santa Ana, CA
May 2 Mill City Nights, Minneapolis, MI
May 3 Turner Hall Ballroom, Milwaukee, WI
May 4 Majestic Theatre, Madison, WI
May 9 The Belmont, Austin, TX
May 10 IDL Ballroom, Tulsa, TX
May 11 Tricky Falls, El Paso, OK
May 18 Belden Town Resort, Belden, CA
May 19 Shoreline Amphitheatre, Mountain View, CA
May 31 Bourbon Theatre, Lincoln, NE
June 1 Red Rocks, Golden, CO

"By playing in quality atmospheres," the Shadow team announces, "like Brooklyn's new Funktion-One Sound System club, Output on April 11, and the legendary outdoor amphitheater, Red Rocks in Colorado on June 1," and not an exclusive, bottle-service Miami club...

"DJ Shadow will truly be able to stand behind his sophisticated sound."

There actually was a time when many Beach clubs valued the music a bit more. Sure, you still had crap like bottle service and VIP, but there were also people who were there for the music alone, people who appreciated a skillful mix. I don't think that exists these days.

I'll excuse the ignorant comments about DJ Shadow, assuming that you just haven't heard his stuff. Check out the "Endtroducing" album, and then let me know if you still think he sucks.

1) Good for him, but 2) he's not even touring anywhere near Florida so it's not like he's "snubbing" us, he's probably just doesn't want to drive in a bus for 15 hours all the way down here from the next closest tour stop!

Definitely don't blame Shadow on this one.Miami denizens is so retarded that they think Aoki, Deadmau5 and Skrillex are all DJs when all 3 don't know jack shit outside pressing the Play button. Opium Group has single handedly ruined the music scene by catering to bottle service VIPs over the DJs/musicians. I'd rather make a road trip to see someone outside of Miami than step foot on any Opium Group venue because those rejects are a cancer to the music scene.

I'm not sure "DJ Shadow Snubs Miami" was the way to go on this one... But you guys are the reporters... Right?

I mean, cool of him to do it. But his fans in Miami aren't fucking club owners. Wed like to see him, just not in stupid venues. He should have known better anyway that the people who go to mansion aren't his crowd. Thank you Mansion for making sure this amazing DJ, whos been in the game since I was a kid, probably never comes back to Miami.
