When you're the Carters on vacay in Cuba ....

You've gotta expect to get slammed by South Florida's exilio Cubanos. Even if you dress like Maya Angelou and her bagboy on a humanitarian mission circa '64.

So it was probably no surprise to Jay-Z and Beyonce when Republican politicos Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Mario Diaz-Balart, and Marco Rubio angrily accused them of helping to "fund the machinery of oppression" and having "no interest in the Cuban people's freedom" over last week's second honeymoon in Havana.

But that's why Hova and Bey got the proper paperwork, straight from the Treasury Department, who's finally confirmed that the supercouple's "educational exchange trip" was indeed "authorized."

UPDATE Ros-Lehtinen still insists Jay-Z and Beyonce in Cuba "was a wedding anniversary vacation that was not even disguised as a cultural program."

UPDATE #2 Jay-Z's finally responded to his Cuba haters with a new track called "Open Letter" and words like, "Obama said, 'Chill, you gon get me impeached.'"

UPDATE #3 Pitbull has dropped a rap response to Jay-Z and Beyonce's Cuba visit, offering to pay for the trip.

UPDATE #4 Problem Kids have released "Useful Idiot" about Jay-Z: "The real cuba is not what he portrayed"

UPDATE #5 Obama has commented on Jay-Z and Beyonce in Cuba, saying: ""This is not something the White House was involved with. We've got better things to do."

Yesterday (after "a source familiar with the itinerary" already told Reuters essentially the same thing), the Treasury officially announced in letters sent to Ros-Lehtinen and Diaz-Balart that the Carters three-day stay on the island had been approved under a licensed program that encourages "meaningful contacts" with the Cuban people.

As Alastair M. Fitzpayne, the Treasury's assistant secretary for legislative affairs, writes: "It is our understanding that the travelers in question traveled to Cuba pursuant to an educational exchange trip organized by a group authorized by OFAC to sponsor and organize programs to promote people-to-people contact in Cuba."

But will South Florida's exilio Cubanos be satisfied?

Definitely not.

Of course it was "authorized." They are buddy-buddy with the head honcho himself.
