The winds of change are blowing for Caligula, Miami's darkest dubstep duo.

Members Damaged Goods and Mikey Millions have worked hard since 2010 to make a name for themselves in the streets, catching fire with hot remixes of Kid Cudi's "Marijuana" and Swedish House Mafia's "Miami to Ibiza." They've also opened for some pretty evil acts, but these self-proclaimed "bastard sons ov Emperor Tiberius" are ready for the next level.

They've got new management, new material, and new "hysterical stage antics," and it'll all be unleashed Thursday, May 30, at Grand Central when they open for the earth-shattering booms of Mt. Eden and Figure.

"I'm really stoked for the new music," says Obi, the half of the group also known as Damaged Goods. "It's kind of been hidden for a while, as we're fine-tuning everything. But the new music will definitely open new doors."

He and partner Mikey have holed up in their Miami Beach studio, taking some time to work out the finishing touches on 10 or 12 new songs, experimenting with different tempos and new sounds.

"I'm excited," Mikey says. "They're ready for crowd testing."

The Caligula dudes' new music, though, is only one of the surprises planned for this week's big gig. There will be giant skulls and t-shirts. Maybe even a few tricks with the downtown club's newest toys.

"Grand Central has always been a great venue, probably my favorite to play in Miami," Mikey enthuses. "But with this new edition of extra lighting, you feel like you're at LIV or something. It's a straight-up nightclub now. We're planning to do something a little special for the show."

Caligula. Opening for Mt. Eden and Figure. Thursday, May 30. Grand Central, 697 N. Miami Ave., Miami. The show starts at 10 p.m. and tickets cost $20 plus fees via ticketfly.com. Call 305-377-2277 or visit grandcentralmiami.com.
