Via facebook.com/Radioboxer Say hello to summer and goodbye to Radioboxer this Memorial Day weekend.
It's Memorial Day weekend, y'all! And in case you're wondering, here's what that translates to: (a) a three-day weekend; (b) the official start of summer; (c) non-stop parties for the next 72 hours.
The best part of it all, you won't have to blow your entire life savings on endless bashes and booze. Nope, Mr. Hamilton will take care of you.
Check the cut for Crossfade's ten best music-related things to do under $10 this Memorial Day weekend.
Nag Champayons. Friday, May 24, 10 p.m., Tobacco Road, 626 S. Miami Ave., Miami; 305-374-1198; tobacco-road.com. Free. What do you get when you combine funky psychedelic beats with hip-hop and reggae vibes? The "tropidelic Afrogalactic" sound of Nag Champayons.
Led Zeppelin Tribute. With Mad World Orchestra. Friday, May 24, 9 p.m., The Stage, 170 NE 38th St., Miami; 305-576-9577; thestagemiami.com. Free before 11 p.m., $10 after. They took us on the "Stairway to Heaven" with their soft guitar riffs, gave us a "Whole Lotta Love" with their smokin' apreggios, and then left us "Dazed and Confused" when Jimmy Page rocked the electric guitar with a bow. And for all of that, Led Zeppelin deserves a trophy.
