Ten Best Music-Related Things Under $10 to Do in Miami This Weekend
Courtesy of The Agency Group Screw Chantal! We're gonna get wild with the little hurricanes of The Coathangers.
Those hurricane parties you were planning? The ones consisting of mindless drinking while waiting for the storm to pass? Well, they pretty much died, along with Tropical Storm Chantal itself.
Now the question remains: What to do with all that stored-up booze money? Spend it on cheap liquor, mosh pits, indie rock, experimental, dance, and Bastille Day parties, of course!
Here are Crossfade's ten best music-related things to do under $10 this weekend.
ArtOfficial. With Urban Rebel and DJ Heron. Friday, July 12, 9 p.m., at The Stage, 170 NE 38th St., Miami; 305-576-9577; thestagemiami.com. Admission costs $10 after 10 p.m. Rap, jazz, ska, whatever genre you wanna call this music, ArtOfficial is the only band of its kind in the MIA. As the crew perfectly put it, "[we] ain't no slave to hypocrisy."
Astrea Corp. With Jean Jacket, Mikey R., and Benton G. Friday, July 12, 10 p.m., at Gramps, 176 NW 24th St., Miami; 786-752-6693; grampsbar.com. Free. The "experimental trip-hoppers and wandering neuromancers" of Astrea Corp will take you to "Paradise Oscine" with their trippy tunes. Just make sure to get to Gramps 'round 6 p.m. for the bar's $2 happy hour specials and some wholesome, cheesy goodness from Ms. Cheezious.
