Five Reasons Today's Rappers Are Fakes

minaj_is_fake.jpg

Hip-hop has hit a new low. It's nothing but a flashy circus full of liars, cheats, and corporate scum. They all want to talk big shit about coming from the streets or representing the hood, but too many have never seen an actual corner in their lives.

Not only are they liars, but they're actually hurting the people they pretend to speak for. And they're not even that good at rhyming!

Don't believe us? Here, let us spell it out for you.

They Are Lyrically Lazy
Umm, has anyone been listening to the words in rap songs lately? The point of rapping is to show how witty and quick on your feet you can be, but all these wannabes are copping each other's lines and rhyming words with themselves. Soulja Boy is the worst, but he's kind of a joke anyway. What about Nicki Minaj? You really think saying "You a Stupid Hoe" over and over is a chorus? Have you heard Future's "Chosen One"? The chorus is straight up eight lines that end with "one." Fuck that shit, you're not even trying.

That isn't hip hop, it's hip pop. The underground is alive and well and without any of this bullshit

While I agree on most points, I do have to take it up with the corporate shill reasoning. As music videos aren't a prominent source of income or selling/marketing point for artist like it was in the 90s artist have to ask 3rd parties to fund these videos so kids can see them for free on youtube. With the current media trends its not lucrative to make a music video since there isn't anymore "YO MTV raps" or televised music channels for that matter that generate revenue by buying these videos and showing to the public while commercials play. As for the scene itself that's evolving. This yuppies saying "rap is crap" or dismissing it as junk food music are just your typical sheeple that haven't explored beyond their comfort zone and never really dug for the quality of euphoric sound when it comes to lyrical depth( My opinion is all music is good its just how you tune into it and a lot of that has to do what sound you flow with). The scene is now online. The hardliners are getting smart and porting their wares on the frontlines of audio sites. The hussle has changed from peddling from your trunk ( which is still there but not as productive) to pushing your mixtape on a number of sites. The sound is there the heart is there its just flowing through digital streams. I still get my soulful kicks and gutter trunk thumpers blissfully vibrating in my auditory cortex. The only thing dead is mainstream radio and television.

Not that I disagree with the post - but how is that 'wealth' graphic accurate at all? 50 cent made something of the sum of 150 mil alone off of vitamin water. What are the sources? Make a 'Five Reasons Today's Media & Bloggers are Fake' - it'd be just as accurate I assure you.

i don't think the kids, all young BLACK kids and many teenage WHITE girls, who want to listen to rap really care - i don't think young hispanics are into rap,  nor are most WHITE boys SO as for the reality behind the hype - who cares ? ................. certainly not the kids whp pay for it

otherwise mature adults,  who hear rap,  and also have been exposed to opera and blues and jazz as well as rock,  all can agree that rap is like potato chips,  junk food for the ears, and BTW the business is ENTERTAINMENT which by definition includes professional wrestling and MARLINs baseball - enough said

I would also like to point out, that a "HOE" is a gardening tool not a "HO".

Rap is only one letter short of CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In the industry, it's a dead genre.
