Tiesto Hates on Daft Punk: Five Reasons This Idiot's Jealous

tiesto_is_a_bloated_idiot.jpg

They say hate is just twisted appreciation, and if that's the case, Tiësto must be the biggest Daft Punk fan on the planet. He just has a funny way of showing it.

He recently went on a huge dig-fest, calling the robots an overhyped waste of studio space, talking smack about their work on the Tron: Legacy soundtrack and Random Access Memories.

Apparently, Tiësto's mad pissed that the Daft Punk guys have the skills to step outside the box they created and fulfill themselves creatively in a multitude of ways, and instead of accepting their artistry, he is now out to "destroy" them.

Well, Tiëstblow, we think you need to take a step back and look in the mirror. We'll help you.

He's Pissed He Hasn't Worked With Those Collaborators
This whole thing was spurred by a meeting Tiësto had during one of his shows with recent DP collaborator and electronic music innovator Giorgio Moroder. He did shots with the 70-something godfather of four-on-the-floor, then he exchanged numbers with him, hoping he could get in on that magic. When DP came up in a subsequent interview, he started shitting all over the new album, claiming that everyone just pretends to like it because Daft Punk is "cool." Factually, Daft Punk is and has been appreciated by people who don't frequent (and in fact, would never be caught dead at) EDM shows. Meanwhile, there are more people on molly at a Tiësto show than probably any other, because you have to be blowing up to find redeemable qualities in his insanely repetitive and flat-line DJ sets. Perhaps someone is redirecting their own frustrations?

This is stupid honestly, even though this is from last year. Tiesto is a great DJ, and regardless if people say his music is shit or not, or he trying to hate on daft punk, who gives a fuck? He's doing what he likes to do.

On a side note, shitty ass blog, poorly laid out and people are suppose to believe what you guys are saying?

Talk about a tiesto-hating bitch.. Ive been a fan of both artists since the 90s and honestly DP new album is good but it's not GREAT. And for a music blogger to only be able to reference one tiesto CD ( kaleidoscope) really shows her serious lack of knowledge for what tiesto has contributed to EDM for the past decade. So tiesto decides to criticize daft punk a little, guess what, MUSICIANS AND ARTIST DO IT TO EACH OTHER ALL THE TIME. Go do your f*cking homework (no pun intended) before you waste my time with another 3-page bullshit article. Daft punk are living legends in their own right and definitely dont need someone as ignorant as this blogger to defend their music.

I just came across this article doing a random unrelated search and I just had to register to say this article is bullshit. Its completely one sided and apparently full of hate on the writers side. I am 35 born and raised in Miami and dance music has been my life since I was 16 and I can honestly say I tried giving Daft punk a chance but that album just sucks. I hate that robot sound , nothing special about it and now everybody wants to throw it into their sets and its just annoying. Again the comment on Tiesto will never get billing over Daft Punk but who cares those people running to those stages don't care about the music its all about whats popular at the time. Like this year at Ultra everyone wanted to be at the Swedish House closing set , why not because they loved the music but because its the popular thing to do. So again screw the robots and give me Tiesto and his "flat sound" any day of the week... Side note  I take insult to your molly comment, those of us that love the music don't need to alter our state of mind to love trance

It's not very professional to say things like that Tiesto, for a DJ yourself you should give some point in order for them to "repair "themselves rather than saying its sh*t

I wondered if we'd go one day without a Daft Punk mention. Guess not.

Tiestos set was a snooze fest at Orlando EDC last year.

I really don't care for either Daft Punk or Tiesto, but I do feel there was a lot of truth in what Tiesto had to say.

Does this mean you have a twisted appreciation for tiesto?

If he has been hating, what is the point of the article? Your jealousy over his success?

The new daft punk album is actually pretty bad. Tiesto isn't exactly my cup of tea but daft punk just shit an album for frat boys to bang in their scions. Why elsewould they get pharrel in on it?

@George Owen If you listen the whole album it's not really a shit use to get laid except for Get Lucky i guess like men wtf RAM are mostly 80's type not many teenagers will like it unless they got the old soul.

@George Owen It's only bad if you don't understand the concept and have been used to what's on the radio. It's a concept album, and it's strongest points are extremely high production level and concept, as in live instrumentation to record an electro album. I didn't love all the songs, but there are some gems, and these two prior reasons alone make it a good album that will go down in history.
