Base at Space Miami Is Turning the Downtown Club Into "That Pure Trap Venue"

Attention Miami trapaholics! Your days of wandering the streets, following ratchet bass systems in random cars are over. Your weekly fix has arrived. It's time to get Based.

Every Saturday, Red Rabbit Presents is bringing Base at Space and real trap music to Miami. Since debuting in June, this weekly party has packed the downtown club's newly renovated first floor with the biggest, banging-est names in the game, from Luminox to DJ Sliink, Green Lantern, and others.

So if you haven't already been to a Base bash, don't miss this Saturday as they celebrate lucky 13 successful weekend with Miami's own world-champion turntablist DJ Craze and then next week's House of Horror edition with Johnny Terror.

Shane Vernon, co-CEO of Red Rabbit Presents, is familiar with running wild weeklies. His company heads Super Fridays at Mansion, as well as other big one-off shows, but he says Base is meant for those searching for something different -- and he means everyone.

"I've brought a lot of people to Base who were sworn EDM haters, and they tell me by the end of the night, 'Wow, this is incredible. I love this,'" Vernon laughs. "It's the beautiful blending of both worlds. Anybody that loves hip-hop or EDM, or both, or neither, I still think you're going to love Base."

Vernon and crew are proud to call Space their new home. They believe they have something really unique to offer the downtown landscape.

"Everybody in downtown has done a great job at choreographing their venues," he says, "but it was kind of like, this is what was missing, that bass venue, that pure trap venue."

The best part about Base: There's no cover till 12:30 a.m. if you say "Red Rabbit" at the door. And of course, the energy stays turnt up from beginning to end.

"None of this, 'Oh, let the opener be polite for the headliner,'" Vernon says. "It goes off from when doors open to when doors close."
