Pet Shop Boys Awarded Keys to Miami Beach: "Do We Get Free Public Transport?"

Categories: News

The people of Dade County got lots of "Love Etc." for Pet Shop Boys.

Last night's Electric U.S. tour kickoff show was totally sold out. And Crossfade readers' rave reviews include: "One of the best shows I've ever been to ... Like seeing a musical. The best!"

Honestly, local fans adore the Boys so much that it's a shock they didn't hand over the keys to the city.

Umm ... What?! They did!

It's true.

As the Pet Shop Boys' Neil Tennant mentioned on the duo's official website: "Before the show tonight we got presented with the keys to the City of Miami Beach by Commissioner Michael Góngora.

"Quite an honour!" he enthused, before cracking, "Do we get free public transport?"

So ... Sold-out show, rave reviews, keys to the city.

It's all proof that Pet Shop Boys are "Always on [Our] Mind." But what about our bodies?

Well, as Mr. Tennant points out: "Great opening show for the North American tour tonight in Miami! Some dedicated fans in the audience - check out this tattoo."
