Full of Hell: "No Weenie Egos, Awesome Live Show"

The International Noise Conference has come and gone this year, leaving in its wake perforated eardrums, a melted motorcycle tire, and a missing flute.

But noise as an accessory within other genres has become a very regular thing in recent years. Hell, even Kanye West has dabbled with harsh noise (though he would have you believe he invented the concept).

Of the artists incorporating noise into their sound, Maryland hardcore crew Full of Hell has done a particularly remarkable job of using squealing feedback, stuttering oscillation, and various forms of sonic decay.

The perpetually road-bound band will be bringing its brand of skull-fucking catharsis to Churchill's Pub tomorrow night, continuing the soon-to-possibly-be-changing venue's storied history of offering shelter to the ugly side of the arts.

Though we're well aware that hitting Churchill's on a Wednesday may not be the most intelligent move if you've got some lame day job, we here at Crossfade implore you to come out and get an up-close look at what the cutting edge of hardcore currently looks and sounds like.

In addition to Full of Hell and tourmates, Mutilation Rites, tomorrow's Miami bill is stacked with some of South Florida's best heavies, including the unstoppable hardcore beast that is Homestretch, crushing dispatchers of sludge Tetragrammaton, and the recently reactivated progressive-grind unit Devalued.

In promoter John McHale's own words: "Full of Hell are the best dudes. No weenie egos. Awesome live show. Dave is a true maniac and Dylan sounds like Sigourney Weaver in Ghostbusters when she gets possessed by that crazy dog monster."

If that's not evocative enough, McHale has also described the band as "the soundtrack to getting put in a Boston crab."

Full of Hell and Mutilation Rites. With Homestretch, Tetragrammaton, and Devalued. Presented by Breakeven Booking. Wednesday, February 19. Churchill's Pub, 5501 NE Second Ave., Miami. The show starts at 8 p.m. and cover costs $10. Call 305-757-1807 or visit churchillspub.com.
