Pitbull Cancels Club 305 Cruise, Avoids Maritime Disaster

Pitbull Boat.jpg
Following Costa Concordia's horrific disaster-at-sea, competing cruise line Royal Caribbean has managed to avoid their own maritime mishap thanks to Mr. Worldwide, Pitbull.

Armando Christian Perez's Club 305 Cruise has been cancelled, but questions as to why the "magical voyage" with Pitbull, Paul Oakenfold, Flo Rida, and 2,500 of their closest friends was scrapped remain unanswered.

Scheduled for mid April, Pitbull's theme cruise was supposed to be a three-night, Miami-centric vacay, an excuse to get faded and dance poolside to tiki-tiki music. Sadly, however, there won't be a "Calle Ocho Bon Voyage Party."

Red Hot Chili Peppers Postpone 2012 US Tour, Reschedule South Florida Gig

Red Hot Chili Peppers.jpg
Being the frontman of one of the biggest bands on the planet can be a real pain in the sesamoid bone and flexor tendon. Just ask Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedis.

The porn 'stachioed rocker recently underwent surgery to treat a bum foot, the result of "multiple" injuries. And regrettably, RHCP have postponed the start of their 2012 US tour, which was scheduled to kick off at the BankAtlantic Center next week.

Bayside Rocks Reggae Festival Canceled

Categories: Cancellations
BaysideRocksCanceled.jpg
We here at Crossfade were so stoked about "summon[ing] the righteousness of reggae and Jah's blessedness" (and, uh, toking on that ganja) at tomorrow's second annual Bayside Rocks Festival.

But sadly, Bayfront Park's front offices have just contacted us to confirm that the 2011 editon of Bayside Rocks is officially canceled. At the moment, neither the park, nor the fest's producers ROCKAZ MVMT have provided the exact reason for the sudden cancelation.

But a source tells Crossfade that the fest has been called off because headliner Luciano has run into "visa problems" that will prevent him from performing tomorrow night.

After catching a nasty case of seasonal influenza, grunge-y sex symbol, former Soundgarden singer, and current acoustic crooner Chris Cornell was forced to cancel last night's unplugged gig in Miami.

"Due to laryngitis caused by flu, Chris Cornell is unable to perform tonight," the official Live Nation cancelation announcement explained. "He apologizes to his fans who traveled to see him perform, but tonight's show at the Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater in Miami Beach must be postponed."

Adele Cancels Entire US Tour Due to Vocal Cord Hemorrhage, Including Miami Concert

AdeleUSTourCanceled.jpg
It's happened again.

On June 3, Brit songbird Adele was forced to cancel nine US tour dates due to a nasty bout of laryngitis. "I'm really frustrated. I was hoping with a weeks rest I'd be better to sing again straight away," she said at the time. "However there is absolutely nothing I can do but take the doctors advice and rest some more. I'm so sorry. See you soon, love Adele."

And indeed, Adele rescheduled the missed shows and added another 11 to her planned American trek, including a Miami gig at the Plaza at American Airlines Arena on October 14.

But yesterday, a statement was posted to the news section of adele.tv, announcing that "Adele has been forced to cancel her upcoming 10 city sold-out tour of the U.S. due to a haemorrhage into her vocal chord."

Identity Festival Miami Canceled For Good; Refunds at Point of Purchase

identity_canceled.jpg
Sorry, Miami. It seems Identity Festival's organizers had trouble putting together a lineup for the rescheduled September 30 date at Klipsch Amphitheater at Bayfront Park. The festival broke the news the permanent cancellation this evening via Facebook. However, organizers do hint at a return in 2012.

Here's the full statement:
The original Miami IDentity date on August 25 was forced to cancel due to Hurricane Irene and we made all attempts to reassemble the confirmed lineup from August 25 to September 30; however prior commitments from a large number of artists prohibit the September 30 date from moving forward. As a result the September 30 date will not happen. See you in 2012 barring no hurricanes. Refunds are available at point of purchase.

As reported a few minutes ago by Crossfade's sister blog County Grind, bespectacled intellectual Elvis Costello has just delayed his current worldwide trek, cheekily named The Spectacular Songbook Tour, and postponed six shows including his September 18 stop at Hard Rock Live.

In a postponement announcement on elviscostello.com, the musician's camp explains: "It is with regret and sorrow that Elvis Costello announces that he must delay the start of the next leg of 'The Spectacular Spinning Songbook Tour' ... due to matters pertaining to the very serious illness of a close family member."

Langerado Music Festival 2011 Canceled

Langerado2011Canceled.jpg
In March, the Langerado Music Festival announced its return after a long two-year abscence, exclaiming, "the wait is officially over."

Backed by Florida's Boros Entertainment and Austin's C3 Presents, there was hope that Langerado could avoid being sunk -- as it had in 2009 -- by "'sluggish ticket sales,' and the general shittiness of the U.S. economy."

But unfortunately, the fest announced today on its website that "Boros Entertainment has regretfully cancelled Langerado."

Identity Festival Miami Canceled Due to Hurricane Irene; Miami Tickets to Be Honored at Tampa UPDATED

RuskoUltraMusicFestival2011.jpg
No Rusko for you, Miami.
Update: Identity's organizers have release another statement saying tickets for Miami's canceled/postponed Identity stop will be honored at tomorrow's show in Tampa. Road trip! (Full statement after the jump.)

Dammit, Hurricane Irene!

Despite NOAA's prediction that the storm will skirt the state and stay well to the east, Identity Festival's organizers aren't taking any chances and have decided to postpone (cancel?) the Miami stop of the tour.

No other dates, including Wednesday's stop in Tampa, will be affected.

According to the statement, a potential rescheduled date will be announced next Monday, August 29.

Scheduled to appear at the Miami date at the Klipsch Amphitheater were acts like Kaskade, Booka Shade, Steve Aoki, White Shadow, the Crystal Method, Rusko, Holy Ghost!, and more.

The precaution is perhaps for the best. Even if Irene doesn't directly hit the city, high winds and rain can be dangerous. Just look at the Pukkelpop festival in Belgium, where a severe storm killed five people and left 71 injured.

Kings of Leon Cancel Entire U.S. Tour Thanks to Caleb Followill's "Exhaustion"

Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill about to "vomit."
In about 50 hours, Kings of Leon were supposed to set your "Sex on Fire" at West Palm Beach's Cruzan Amphitheatre. But unfortunately, that ain't gonna happen.

Just a few minutes ago, Crossfade got word from Live Nation that KOL "are canceling their entire US tour due to Caleb Followill suffering from vocal issues and exhaustion."

And while those sound like legitimate excuses, we have reason to believe that Caleb's inability to handle his booze is the real reason for the cancellation of 25 tour gigs.
