Esperanza Spalding: The Grammys' Best New Artist of 2011, Live at Knight headliner, boombox enthusiast.

From the Prince of Brooklyn to the baddest 'fro in popular experimental jazz ... The Adrienne Arsht Center has just announced the six-act lineup for its inaugural Live at Knight concert series.

Jumping off in October with Talib Kweli & Res's Idle Worship and ending seven months later with Esperanza Spalding, the 2012-13 season will also be bringing a Brazilian alt-rocker, a flamenco-singing crayfish, the Queen of Calypso, and 24 Japanese drummers to the Knight Concert Hall.

​In just a few days, the Magnum Band of Miami celebrates its 35th anniversary.

On Friday night, though, the band got the party started a little early with a free set at Rhythm Foundation and Little Haiti Cultural Center's monthly Big Night In Little Haiti event.

A festive crowd heated up the floor while big-band dance music blasted from the stage, and Dadou Pasquet played the guitar like a 305 Freddie King.

​Who's ready for a few lukewarm pints of fine Dutch pilsner and three straight, solid weeks of worldly party music?

Indeed, it's that time of the year again. It's the sweaty season. We're thirsty. And the fine folks over at the Rhythm Foundation have hooked us up with another edition of the Heineken TransAtlantic Festival.
