Last week Crossfade got invited to Greenwich Studios in North Miami where Univision is filming their new mega reality talent competition Viva El Sueño. Univision was holding an industry preview of the program for big-wig executives, rich, important and famous people.

The show premiered last night. It has an American Idol-type premise, but the twist is that all of the contestants are actual professional musicians who are trying to take their careers to the next step.

Viva El Sueño features contestants from all over Latin America, the United States, and Hispanic Europe. Watch as 14 entrants, one of them a group, battle for musical supremacy on a worldwide stage. Viva El Sueño airs every Sunday at 8 p.m.  on Univision.

And now check out our exclusivo behind the scenes look at Viva El Sueño with red carpet, backstage, and orchestra pit photos of all the contestants plus other Spanish TV celebrities. Enjoy.

Watch out for flying limbs.
If you haven't checked out, take a glimpse at the photo excerpts from the book Miami Graffiti by James and Karla Murray. In it the pair documents Miami's street art scene gorgeously and in vivid colors. Last night, Buck 15 celebrated the book release by inviting local b-boys and graffiti artists as well as the book's creators to party together under one roof. Nightlife photo queen, Jipsy, was there to capture it all. Click here to view the full slideshow.

Moshing was alive and well at SunFest 2009.
While it might not have the clout of other local musical festivals like Ultra or the temporarily (we hope) defunct Langerado, SunFest still keeps attracting South Floridians looking for a more family friendly event. That's not to say SunFest doesn't have an edge. In fact, this year it seems festival organizers diversified their lineup a bit with Wednesday's New Music Night which featured performance by up-and-coming acts.

Our cameras were there for three out of the five days, so check out the photos here, here and here.

We're guessing someone really did become a woman at last night's quince party at the Vagabond. Click here for the full slide show.
What's going on here? We know your standard quince is about a young girl turning into a woman, but we don't think it suppose to be this literal. Anywho, last night our cameras captured the youthful nostalgia of a ritual only those from Miami (or other Latin American countries) can relate to. Check out all the crimes against fashion and pork here.

Pete Wentz and company thankfully kept their (by "their" we mean more specifically Pete Wentz) wangs in their pants (link is totes NSFW) at last night's Fall Out Boy concert at Pompano Beach Amphitheater. The show was originally scheduled to be at Mizner Park in Boca Raton, but the venue feared "security concerns." The only security concern we would fear at a Fall Out Boy show is tweens and young teenagers going hormonoly ape shit.

We didn't bother reviewing the show because we're pretty sure we wouldn't have anything nice to say to begin with. But here are some pretty pictures courtesy of photographer Ian Witlen. In case you like to feel some hometown pride, West Palm Beach's Hey Monday, who opened the show, is also featured. Click here to view the full slide show.

Legally we can't say these people are high -- high on life perhaps. Click here to view the full slide show.
So why is 4/20 chosen as the day everyone feels the needs to get baked out of their minds? There are 364 other days in the year that we're sure any cannabis connoisseur doesn't discriminate smoking on. But we suppose we shouldn't try rationalize something created by people in a purple haze.

Still, that didn't stop the 420 Music Festival by closing out the event last night at PS14 with a 4/20 BBQ Smokeout. Coppa Stone, Spread the Dub, Don Sha, ArtOfficial, King Bee, and Boy Prostitute performed and our cameras were there to enjoy the contact high. Click here to view the full slide show.

There is she, Ms. Gothic Beauty of... er, America? Our cameras stopped by Black Sheep Bar last night to check out The Mausoleum's Gothic Beauty Pageant hosted by Notorious Nastie and Shelley Novak in an effort to crown a Ms. Mausoleum. Unfortunately, there wasn't any swimsuit competition. Click here to view the full slideshow.

With two-days worth of performers, Ultra Music Festival is still to this day the show to attend during Winter Music Conference. Our cameras were out there in full-force to give an unprecedented visual compendium of everything that went down during the festival. Check out photos from both Day 1 (part 1 and part 2) and Day 2 (part 1 and part 2), as well as our look at the fashion you will probably only come across by at the festival.

Slideshows: Electric Pickle Grand Opening and Fischerspooner at LIV

Usually, the week before conference is pretty dead, but for some odd reason or another parties are still going strong. Last night alone, Electric Pickle opened in the former Circa 28 space and electroclash duo Fischerspooner spun at LIV's Dirty Hairy party. Our cameras were at both places to catch all the action.

Wanting to get in the mood for Valentine's Day, our cameras ventured out Monday night for Dream's Chat Noir party. If you haven't been, you are missing out on one of the hottest parties on the beach that features sexy burlesque dancers and brave clubbers that still want to keep the party going beyond the weekend.
