Alex Yanes
Just because it's a cliche doesn't mean it's not true: Miami's art scene is killing it right now. And if you want to celebrate our scene as much as we do, then you better get your tickets to Artopia, Miami New Times' annual fete featuring some of the city's most exciting artists.

Otto von Schirach is the event's musical headliner, and there'll be drinks and hors d'ouvres on the house. But we think you'll be just as excited about the crazy trip your eyeballs will be taking as they scan the walls. From cute cartoons with an edge by Helen Garcia to lifelike, dystopian scenes by Jeff Dekal, you're in for a trippy visual ride.

Krave's murals all around the Magic City. We're particularly fond of the sunbathing beauty at Biscayne Boulevard and NE 38th Street.

Jeff Dekal
To Jeff Dekal, the world's a scary, beautiful place. We dig it.

Nicholas F. Romero
NFRomero's been pursuing his art dreams since grade school. Today, there's not a local Miami art event he hasn't been a part of -- including ours. Also, there's a beating heart on the front page of his website that is really freaking us out.

FIFTYTHREE
FIFTYTHREE is one of Miami's masters of spray paint, putting some of Miami's most complex, intricate graffiti art on walls around town.

Jose Mertz
We think Salvador Dali and Jose Mertz would get along just fine. And that's a good thing.

Alex Yanes: sometimes cartoonish, sometimes three-dimensional, always awesome.

Ruben Ubiera
Hey, remember that kickass mural Ruben Ubiera did in Wynwood?

Helena Garcia
We want to live in Helena Garcia's inner world, where everything's so cute and evil all at once.

CP1
There's no arguing with CP1's skills -- have you seen his mural at GAB Studio?
