Basketball Wives Season Four: Why It's Already The Most Dramatic One Yet
|The season four cast of Basketball Wives|
There, the program description explains all the show's women were "somehow romantically linked to professional basketball players." Translation: This is a TV show exclusively devoted to baby mamas, sidepieces, and ex-wives.
But don't think for a second that we're hating on Basketball Wives; we have literally never missed an episode since day one. Our favorite reality show of all time returns Feb. 20, and we are happy to report it's going to be the best one yet. And by the best, we of course mean the most dramatic.
Jennifer Williams & Evelyn Lozada Hate Each Other
If you'd asked us last year, we'd have told you the words "Jennifer," "Evelyn," and "hate" don't belong in the same sentence. Sure, they have had their mild scuffles. Like the one in Spain when Evelyn found out that Jennifer had announced on the radio that she thought Evelyn's fiance (and Urban Outfitters fan) Chad Ochocino was, well, a douche. We thought they made up, but now the catfight has gone to a whole other level. And because these are ridiculous reality TV stars, no one can even agree on why they're fighting in the first place. Miss Williams believes it's because she is friends with fellow amazon/Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes. And after this Twitter rant, it's safe to say the future Mrs. Ochocinco doesn't agree:
Think Evelyn hates Jennifer? Well, according to TMZ, it seems that Team Lozada isn't feeling her, either. According to the gossip site, all the ladies headed to Gulfstream Park this week to film. While there, Evelyn's assistant Nia added her voice to the feud, telling Jennifer that she is "too big for her britches." Shockingly, this didn't go over well. The two got face-to-face and Nia pushed Williams in the face to get her away. In the police report, Williams described it as being "intentionally struck by Crooks with an open hand to the left side of her face." (We're guessing it's against police protocol to write "bitch got a back hand.")
Royce Reed Hates Everyone
In August of last year, we heard a rumor that Royce Reed was leaving the show. Okay, we weren't the only ones; every blog known to man was reporting it. So what did we do? We got the girl on the phone.
"It's true," she told us. "Let me first say, I know there have been some interviews that have said it wasn't my choice. Shaunie has said "Royce might not be back," but it is my choice. I just think that we are much more than how we are portrayed on the show. I understand people like drama, but it has become more people laughing at us than laughing with us. We need to change the show. We are African-American women, and it's hard for me to express the disappointment I feel when I see the show. We all have careers; we can be there for each other and get over the drama. It's exhausting."
So you can guess we were a little shocked when we found out that she was, in fact, still on the show. But weren't hurt she lied to us. Our thinking: If she hated everyone then, she probably hates them even more now. Can someone say drama?
|New Girls: Kenya (left) & Kesha (right)|
Into this feisty mix, Vh1's dropping two samples of fresh meat. And from what we can tell, they wont disappoint. First, there is Kesha Nichols. You might have heard her name because her ex-fiancé, San Antonio Spurs' Richard Jefferson, broke up with her on the day of her wedding... via email. Damn. Then there's Kenya Bell, a former Miss Michigan. Beauty queens are delightful, right? Not if you ask her husband -- she was arrested in May for stabbing him with a box cutter.
The Preview Says It All
If the above reasons don't make you think this will the most dramatic season of all time, then check out the preview. We think it says it all... or it says nothing at all. But: drama!
