Great Find: Winter White Skinnies at Nikki's Beachhouse Boutique
The Find: A pair of white skinnies with an exposed zipper peeping out of the pocket. Billed as "dress pants" and made by TCEC.
The Shop: Nikki's Beachhouse Boutique has locations in South Miami and Coconut Grove. They carry bikinis, trendy boutique staples like cotton jumpsuits and tribal print tanks, and affordable accessories for proper boat day accessorizing a la knock-off House of Harlow triangle chandelier earrings.
If you're looking for a one-off of something you've seen basically everywhere -- maybe a button-down tank with a longer back than front, or a lace stretch bandeau bra -- Nikki's Beachhouse is the place to find it for a good price, in a nice color, to wear in a pinch.
The Reason: These white pants aren't denim, so they're way more wearable than a pair of white jeans. Moreover, they're the perfect winter white. We love winter white. That old saying about not wearing white after Labor Day has never been a real rule in Miami, where we laugh in the fake-tanned face of winter and all fashion rules in general. (Don't purposefully stick your thong out of your jeans a la BritBrit early 2000's, you say? "Hah," Miami scoffs.)
The Cost: $42
The Style: These pants are a salute to Emmanuelle Alt, the editor-in-chief of French Vogue, who rocks white legwear year-round, most recently in a little viral video where she lip-synchs "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go" wearing her staple plants. Cheers to you, Emmanuelle, for putting a smile on the very concentrated, bleached-eyebrowed, cheekbone-jutting, scary face of fashion.
To style these pantalones the French way, keep it simple and clean. Sweep up your hair in a messy chignon, choose a shirt that accentuates the tough edge of the exposed zipper hardware and unload your jewelry. The best thing about dressing French? It's trés easy.
