Remember the time Lady Gaga arrived at the Grammys in an egg
? Or the time Nicki Minaj showed up as a leopard-Elvira hybrid
? How about Jennifer Lopez' famous, plunging green dress
At most awards shows, celebrities get all dolled up in designer gowns and diamonds and parade around like royalty. Grammy
fashion, on the other hand, can get damn bizarre.
And if there's one thing we at Cultist love, it's the damn bizarre. So here's our salute to last night's most ridiculous looks.
This lady definitely has tickets to the gun show. Sasha Gradiva: more than meets the eye.
This year's "egg moment" came courtesy of Nicki Minaj, who walked the red carpet with a Pope-like figure by her side. Ridiculous? Of course. But it was a hell of a lot more fun to look at than whatever boring dress Carrie Underwood showed up in, so we approve.
Katy Perry performed a
thinly veiled rant
song aimed at ex-husband Russell Brand during the show, complete with ice sculptures of men melting in the heat of her phoenix-like flames. Not so much fire on the red carpet, though. Still, our grandmas will be pretty psyched to hear that their style -- in both fashion and hair -- is trendy again.
Speaking of our grannies, Fergie appears to have utilized both their doilies and their panties.
We knew we'd left something out of our list of '90s trends that should stay in the '90s
. It was construction boots. Thanks for the reminder, Robyn.
It's the evil ghost of a 1910 schoolmarm, come to feast on our souls! Oh no, wait, it's just Skylar Grey. Phew.Follow Cultist on Facebook and Twitter @CultistMiami.
