Iron Man 3 To Be Filmed, and Possibly Set, in Miami

Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark.
Tony Stark belongs in Miami. There's just no argument -- what better place for a stupidly rich playboy from New York? He'd be among his peers. He'd be surrounded by beautiful women. That pasty Pepper Potts might even get herself a tan.

It's only a matter of time before Stark Industries expands to South Florida. And maybe, just maybe, that time has come.

As Iron Man 3 goes into production this week, reports have surfaced indicating that Miami might be playing a supporting role in the upcoming sequel.

Marvel Studios has already started production of the film -- in Wilmington, North Carolina, of all places. But the studio has announced that scenes will also be shot in Miami, as well as Raleigh/Durham and China.

Having yet another big-name Hollywood feature filming around town would be fun, sure. But as Rock of Ages has shown, a movie shot in Miami isn't necessarily a movie about Miami. So we're hoping that Ace Showbiz's "insiders" aren't just pulling our chain:
A source claimed to have spotted "emergency vehicles -- police, ambulance and fire-rescue vehicles -- emblazoned with logos for the city of Miami and Miami PD being unloaded from production trucks near the closed part of the set last night while crews prepared to begin shooting Iron Man 3 at the Cape Fear Club later today.
Welcome to Miami, Iron Man. These days, this town needs all the help it can get.

Hahahaha ah shit. What kind of children run these social media departments.

Instead of publishing brain farts, why don't you pick up the freaking phone and call the city or county and find out? Permits are public record.

As the story notes, Marvel has announced it'll shoot scenes in Miami. That's not speculation. Permits aren't going to tell us the details of the plot.

Geezus, where did you go to journalism school? Oh, I forgot, you're not a journalist, you're just a blogger.

A permit will tell you when they'll be shooting and where. And, it'll tell you if they're going to shut down Ocean Drive for 15 nights or one of the causeways, for instance.  That might give you a clue as to plot. Which you clearly don't have because you're just to lazy to serve your readers by picking up the goddamn phone.
