Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, Day Two: Bride of Frankenstein Goes to the Beach

Dolores Cortés
The Dolores Cortés collection never seems to disappoint, and last night's showing was no exception. Cortés' trademark pieces (swim-fabric-like jumpsuits, plenty of prints, interesting cut-outs) were all present, with an added twist: Plenty of neon mixed in with pastels and pops of color. The accessories were also on-point, with fringe-detailed mini bags, bib necklaces, and larger-than-life (or at least your face) gold flowered cuffs.

Standout Looks: The tye-dye-ish printed one pieces with unexpected stomach cutouts and braiding details.

We could do without:
Some of the crochet work -- though interesting to look at -- is probably best framed on a wall rather than worn to the beach.

Trend Alert: Is this the dawning of the sky-high beehive with neon highlights? Has the bride of Frankenstein been modernized for the 21st century? We sure hope so.

The Vibe
: Wearable art for women that like to feel girly yet empowered

Cute Factor:
The styling was impeccable and girly. We'd never think to coordinate lips, nails and hair.
