Borscht Film Festival Announces 2012 Dates

"It's official," reads the tweet from @borschtcorp, accompanied by an Instagram photo of a ticket to the Adrienne Arsht Center that reads "Borscht 8."

The freaky film fest returns to South Florida this December, and though no films have been officially announced, there are already plenty of reasons to get excited.

These are, after all, the people who brought you "I Am Your Grandma." They're responsible for such luminaries as Werner Herzog rapping about Miami, and for "Play Dead," in which adorable dogs fight zombies, a film that would've broken the Internet on premise alone in these zombie-crazed days. And of course, these are the folks that brought Uncle Luke to Sundance.

And this year, Adan Jodorowsky, son of famed cult filmmaker Alejandro Jodorowsky, has been working with Borscht to film his own surreal, glittery, gory version of Miami starring Asia Argento. 

The countdown to Borscht begins now and ends Dec. 12, 2012. Borscht's fest runs through Dec. 21. So yes, Christmas just came early. Tickets and further announcements will come next week, according to @borschtcorp.
