Kim and Kourtney Kardashian Have Shacked Up in North Miami Beach

When the Kardashians announced they were looking for a home in the Sunset Islands, DiLido Island, or North Bay Road, they didn't exactly get a neighborly welcome. Residents of the high-end neighborhoods have sent the ladies packing, the Belle Isle Blog reports -- all the way to North Miami Beach.

Because they planned to film a season of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami in their new home, they needed their immediate neighbors to sign off on the ownership of any property they purchased in the area, plus the support of all homeowners in a 500-foot radius. Raul Gonzalez of the Miami Beach Office of Film and Print told Belle Isle they didn't get it.



Instead, the ladies are shacking up in a North Miami Beach home inside a gated community while they shoot the TV series. Filming has already begun -- the sisters recently took a handful of kids to the Miami Children's Museum, and Kim has ignited pregnancy rumors by eschewing her typical skin-tight attire for flowy, tropical dresses.

No doubt the Kardashians' TV producers will edit the show to make it look like Kim and Kourtney are living in the heart of South Beach, and most of America's audiences will be none the wiser. But in the meantime, Miami has the dubious honor of being one of the only places in the world too snobby for their brand of trashy reality TV. Hooray?
