Beneath the surface of even the squeakiest clean chick is a dirty girl waiting to get out. And with opportunities to unleash our inner Ke$ha so few and far between, the Dirty Girl Mud Run is screaming for women everywhere to get their dirt on.

According to the founders, this women-only mud run series is designed to be "un-timed, noncompetitive, and un-intimidating." Females of all fitness levels are encouraged, and no previous training is required, making this more of a girls' day out than an athletic competition. This mud-bath-in-motion comes to Homestead Air Reserve Park on January 19.

What's Up With All the Themed 5K Races Coming to Miami?

Miami is the first of the race's 62-city tour in 2013, and an average of 5,000 to 8,000 women are expected to get down and dirty.

"We wanted to create an opportunity for women to take a well-deserved break from their daily routines and do something for themselves. With Dirty Girl, they'd be able to have a girls' day out while challenging themselves, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and most importantly, having fun. We had taken part in other runs and extreme fitness challenges, but felt that these events focused too much on competition," said Chris McIntosh, Co-Founder.

Participants can run solo or in teams, and there'll be prizes for categories including Biggest Team, Most Creative Team Name, Best Team Themed Costumes, and a few others. Anyone over the age of 14 can participate, and if a particular obstacle looks too intimidating, no worries -- runners can simply skip it.

According to event organizers, some of these obstacles include:

Utopian Tubes
Climb through "tubes" in mud pits.

Get Over Yourself!
Climb an eight foot wall straight up and over.

PMS (Pretty Muddy Stuff)
Step over an edge and run into the mud.

Amaze Yourself!
Contort through successive frames of stretched cords.

Dirty Dancing
Climb straight up the back of an obstacle and slide down into a mud pit.

And while this all probably sounds super appealing to dudes, this event is strictly girls-only. Men can, however, serve as volunteers, and even dress up in team uniform if they so choose. (Does that make them manservants?)

As far as charity goes, the run is partnered with The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). In 2012, Dirty Girl exceeded its $250,000 goal for monetary and in-kind support, and in 2013 they plan to deliver over $1,500,000. Cancer survivors also run for free.

For everyone else, the registration fee, $75, entitles you to a Dirty Girl t-shirt and silhouette charm, as well as a post-race DJ, music, one free drink and access to food vendors. Sexy dance party time!

Also, women who register for the Miami run by 12/24/12 will be automatically entered to win a membership (valued up to $500) at any gym or workout studio of her choice in Florida. Registration for the run costs $75, and goes up in price as the event gets closer. It will kick off on Saturday, January 19th, 2013 (rain or shine). The first wave of runners will start at 8 a.m., and the last at 4 p.m. Visit godirtygirl.com for info and registration.
