Twelve Girls of Bikini Basketball: Miami Spice's Andrea Gomez
If you love bikinis, basketball, or women who get into both, Christmas has come early for you this year. The Miami Spice Bikini Basketball team has chosen its roster, and we're serving up photos and interviews of 12 of its newly named members. Consider it our Christmas gift to you.

Andrea Gomez isn't your average teacher. (We don't know about you, but our P.E. instructors most definitely weren't lingerie models or members of fledgling bikini basketball leagues.)
But like all the girls on the Miami Spice team, Andrea is more than a pretty face. The girl can play.
Gomez started on the courts in junior high, moved on to high school and later, walked onto the Miami Dade College team and earned a basketball (and academic) scholarship. Since then, she's coached high school basketball at her alma mater, played a couple pre-season games with the semi-pro Miami Rain, and now teaches and coaches.
As far as the Miami Spice team, she says people will be impressed when they see the girls in action.
"Before you see us play, you're gonna judge us, but once you see us play you'll judge us based on our talent. We have a lot of skill; this is a competitive professional league. These girls can actually hoop, they can play. The fact that it's a combination of sex appeal and athleticism, people should see that as a plus."
For Christmas, Gomez and her family do an early Nochebuena in honor of her dad's birthday on the 22nd. "We're from Columbia, so we get together and eat traditional foods like empanadas and natillas and we sing Christmas carols. It happens every year."
Andrea also loves fettucine alfredo with shrimp, shopping, watching movies and collecting limited edition sneakers.
